— Helen Keller— I graduated from Glen A. High School in Hacienda Heights. I then got my BA in English from UCLA, and continued to UCSB for my teaching credential and Master’s in Education. Because I never want to stop learning and improving myself, I hopes to continue my education soon and pursue a long time goal of achieving a master’s degree in English literature. However, right now, I love teaching too much that I will put it off for a few more years.  This year is my 4th year teaching at West Covina High School. Since starting in 2005 I've been fortunate to be part a part of Skills II, English II and English IV. I enjoy teaching Skills II because of the opportunity to see students improve, gain confidence in their reading skills and ultimately achieve success. I love teaching sophomores because of their quirkiness, excitement to learn, and even their immaturity. I also loves teaching seniors because of the opportunity to share the beauty of British literature, as well as being a part of students’ lives in the cusp of new beginning and challenges. The last four years have been full of precious moments and students, and with the beginning of a new year I am so excited to share my knowledge and love of literature with eager young minds. I also look forward to learning from the students. A new challenge I am very excited about this year is joining Ms. Chao as co-advisers for the incoming freshman class, c/0 of 2012.
When I am not at school, I'm trying yoga and Pilates, although not very successfully, spending time with my family, including my Maltechon Cookie Monster, catching up on personal reading, cheering for the LA Dodgers, win or lose, and just relaxing with friends. But above all, I love cooking and eating. My most recent memorable experience has been going to Mongolia to teach English to students at Mongolia International University.
