Haiku Is Great and Small

Post date: May 19, 2012 3:54:16 AM

I’ve just added a wonderful new poem about haiku to the Poems by Others page. It's “Great and Small” by Serbian poet Milan Djordjevic, translated by Charles Simic. I especially like the opening lines:

The poet Bashō teaches that the famous feats

of blood-soaked military leaders come to nothing

while the leap of a frog may last for centuries.

My thanks to Belinda Broughton from Adelaide, Australia for alerting me to this poem. Please take a look. If you know of other longer poems about haiku, please let me know!
