GNAC

The Norfolk Alumnae Chapter was chartered in 1934 to support Virginia's collegiate chapters at William and Mary and Randolph-Macon Women's College. Since that time, Gamma Phi Beta has chartered 3 more collegiate chapters at Christopher Newport, George Mason, and the University of Virginia.  We will also be colonizing at Virginia Tech in February 2011. After a period of dormancy, the Greater Norfolk Alumnae Chapter was rechartered in 2006 to allow Southside Hampton Roads alumnae to have a local group close to home. The GNAC membership area has a very transient population, which is reflected in 50% of the local alumnae coming from out of state collegiate chapters.

GNAC participates in the Tidewater Alumnae Panhellenic Association (TAPA).  28% of the local alumnae are under 30, and just 15% are above the age of 65.
