Second book for the GLE

Matthew's Catechetical Gospel: Training Disciples in the Truth for the Kingdom of Heaven within the Jesus Tradition. (Note well: This second book is in preparation for publication). In it, I offer Christian believers a religious experience of the Matthean text along with several ecclesiastical documents. Its specific purpose is to enable Christian households to be recatechized in and by the Gospel according to Matthew in the moral teachings of Christ as found in the Matthean text and in its living Apostolic Tradition. The Matthean text is a catechetical gospel, which shows that Jesus not only preached and taught the truth but that he is the truth. It teaches Christians, especially in the five Matthean discourses, what they must do to enter eternal life and how they can distinguish good from evil. Jesus Christ is the truth, who will guide any believer who wants to live his or her life according to standards of God. The GLE with the Matthean text aims to help us to recognize more fully the splendor of Truth, who is Jesus Christ and how to live the truth more and more perfectly. The gospel listening experience of Mark, Matthew, Luke/Acts and John help us to be constantly oriented to the Father.

Thus, in the second stage of the GLE, I have chosen to use the Gospel of Matthew along with a selection of ecclesiastical writings to guide Christians to Jesus Christ, who is the Truth. Matthew teaches the believers how to recognize Jesus Christ as the Truth. He not only knows the truth but also lives the truth. Matthew's Catechetical Gospel: Training Disciples in the Truth for the Kingdom of Heaven within the Jesus Tradition aims to help believers to rediscover the Truth. Many believers are on a path of self-destruction. They have lost sight of the relationship between freedom and truth in the present-day culture. This book continues the process of transformation in and by the gospels. This book is a process of recatechesis of the mind and of the heart so that one may recognize the Truth and live a moral life according to the will of God. Thus, we may do what is good, upright, acceptable, perfect and pleasing to God. In the Gospel of John, Christ reveals that the frank and open acceptance of truth is the condition for authentic freedom: 'You will know the truth and the truth will set you free' (Jn 8:32).
