Typical Night

A typical Bible study night has several components, which should be appealing to all learning styles.

First, we begin with a small group discussion led by a facilitator on various aspects of the Scripture reading assigned for that night. The more you read ahead, the more fruitful the discussion will be for you and the more meaningful the Bible study.

As you discuss questions with your group, you are able to forge friendships and connections with others in the parish, so this experience is not just you as individual learner, but a chance to grow in the parish community.

A short break is held where light refreshments will be provided followed by a 45-50 minute lesson from Jeff Cavins, a well-known Catholic speaker who designed the Great Adventure Bible study.  This will be in DVD format on a large screen in the Hall.

Jeff Cavins is an engaging speaker, with information mixed well with anecdotes to make learning enjoyable. By the end of each of his presentations, you will learn a great deal about the meaning of the Biblical text, and many confusing or mysterious passages or details will be clarified for you!

After that, the evening is over, and you will be able to go home and prepare for the next session by reading the Scriptures for the following week.
