Help

Volunteers are needed to make this a success!

If you would like to help, please contact Kimberly Barber at kim@goodshepherdparish.net and let her know in which area you would like to participate.

Our goal for this Bible study in the fall is to have at least 100 people enroll in this Great Adventure. With a parish this big, it shouldn't be too hard to reach that goal, but we have to advertise! We have to get the word out! So we need people dedicated to advertising! This includes making posters, sending out mailings, and if necessary, handing out advertisements during Mass.

Small Group Facilitator
In order to help the content of what we are studying truly reach the hearts and lives of the participants, a small group discussion precedes each lesson. Our participants are divided into regular meeting groups and are given reflection and discussion questions in their workbooks to discuss as a group.  What we need are facilitators for each group to help initiate the dialogue, make sure the discussion stays on topic, and help the conversation goes smoothly. Facilitators don't have to be experts in the Bible! If questions arise, all the facilitator has to do is write them down, give them to the Director of the Bible Study (Kimberly Barber) and the answers are given the following week. It's simple!

Registration and Attendance
With the hope of so many people registering, and wanting to make each registrant feel welcomed, we could use a few volunteers to help coordinate the registrations as they come in, create name tags, assign people to small groups, and make sure we have enough materials. Once the Bible study is underway, we need people to help us keep track of attendance, and create completion certificates for the participants who have completed the study.

Hospitality
Nothing gives an evening more "pep" than some snacks and coffee!  During the break time, it's so enjoyable for people to mingle over some cookies, and it would be wonderful to have a committed who can provide the set-up for these refreshments. It's in the budget of the Bible study for us to provide some store-bought snacks, or volunteers could bring in some homemade goods! All are welcome!

Room Set Up
The Great Adventure includes two components: small group discussion and large group presentation.  We need volunteers to help us move chairs to set up for each format! The chairs are not heavy, but with the number of people we desire to attend, it would be fantastic to have a crew dedicated to this task.

Communications
In order to allow our participants to be fully prepared for the Great Adventure, and to have a fulfilling experience along the way, we need people to communicate with them, either via letter, e-mail or phone providing information before they arrive, and any updates once the class is underway.  A communications volunteer would also help us call people who may have missed a class and make sure everything is ok.
