Confession

The sacrament of Confession (also called Reconciliation, or the sacrament of Penance) is a gift of God which heals us from sin.  It is a tremendous gift and is necessary in order for us to live a Christian life.

Why do we need Confession? The answer is simple: we need to go to Confession because we sin. All of us. We all make mistakes, we all have shortcomings, we all fall into temptation and we all fall short of the glory of God.

But God doesn't want us to stay that way. God loves us, and wants us to be healed from the damage and wounds of sin. God wants us to be perfect, and he wants us to be filled with His glory. He wants us to be free, happy and full of goodness, not slaves to sin which makes us sad, and ultimately kills the life of God in us.

As great of a gift that Confession is, it is sometimes misunderstood, it is often undervalued, and almost always under-used.

Let this page be a resource to you to share with you the great gift of Confession so that we don't miss an opportunity to be free from sins and be filled with God's life-giving grace.
