Established in 1977, the Gold Trail Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, plays an important role in its community, as well as across California and the United States of America.

It is one of more than one hundred DAR chapters in California, which combined have a statewide membership exceeding 8,000.

DAR members include professional women, homemakers, and retirees from many walks of life, who work in a variety of different ways to advance the mission of the National Society, which is to promote education, historic preservation, and patriotism.

Our chapter's organizing regent is Dorla Dean E. Kemper, an active and much loved chapter member and Honorary President General, who, after founding our chapter, later served in many DAR offices at the state and national levels. Mrs. Kemper served as the California State Regent (the highest state office), and was the President General of the National Society from 1995-1998 (the highest national office, and top position in DAR). Here Mrs. Kemper stands next to her official portrait at DAR Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
