How to tie your Obi | ||
|
While the karateka takes pride in maintaining a clean, neat gi (uniform), the obi (belt) is not washed. After a period of training, the obi darkens and frays as a result of hard work. This outward sign, in essence, becomes an outward symbol of the effords of the karateka. | ||
