For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 The Story Behind BorninChrist.org was first developed in 2004 by a Seventh-day Adventist Christian. The intention was to preach the message of Seventh-day Adventism without making it apparent to the visitor, which is very common practice of the church. All the SDA beliefs and doctrines were published on the website without direct reference to the denomination. There was a bible study guide and a large collection of audio sermons, there was even a section dedicated to vegetarian recipes trying to promote Ellen White's health message. Why was the true identity of BorninChrist.org concealed? Seventh-day Adventists much like Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and Jehovah's Witnesses (JW) do not promote who they are when they do evangelism and outreach. This is done for a good reason. SDA church was labeled a cult for decades and still is considered as such by many. Just like the Mormons have a prophetic voice in Joseph Smith and the JW in Charles Taze Russell, so the Adventists have their own prophet: Ellen G White. The doctrines of the church are largely based on her writings, "visions" and interpretations of the scripture. The seventh-day Sabbath is a requirement, in fact Ellen White calls it "the seal of God" which identifies God's remnant church, while the bible says believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit "for the day of redemption" (Ephesians 4:30). Adventists don't believe that Jesus finished His work at the cross, they say in 1844 He began a new work in heaven they call "Investigative Judgement", the purpose of which is to see if those who claim to believe in Him are really saved. This would be determined by whether or not these Christians keep the 10 Commandments and make every effort to perfect their characters. Further Adventists divide the body of Christ by giving themselves status of "remnant" (just like JW) and taking Ellen White's position that Sunday keeping as a day of worship is the mark of the beast. When in January of 2009 the author of BorninChrist.org finally came to realize the deception and danger in the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist church, he felt it was his obligation as a Christian to undo the damage he has done with this website. BorninChrist.org is now and forever will be preaching the true gospel of Christ which is salvation by grace through faith alone. BorninChrist.org has no affiliation with any Christian denomination and will never again serve the interests of any particular church. The hope is that every believer who reads this site will focus on Jesus who said "I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved..." John 10:9a, ESV. A special emphasis is made to help those who have carried a burden enforced by a cultic church. This is why the verse in the beginning of this page, Matthew 11:28-30 is so important to this ministry.
