A big "THANK YOU" to Loyce Broughton who put together this great video! The parade begins at 7 p.m. on May 18th on Davis Street in the parking lot at the corner of Oak Street. Motorized vehicles will start the parade (mostly our Police and Fire Rescue and a few select vehicles with band members - this is mostly a goat cart and walking parade). Dress up yourself and dress up your goat! Let's all have a great time celebrating Dairy Goats and goats in general. Don't have any four legged goat friends? Walk with your favorite old goat and dance down Main Street! Here is a link that should show the parade route. The Parade Costume Contestants should return to the Corner of Main Street and Tanner right after the parade for judging. Best Costume, Best Show in the Parade, Most Beautiful Goat and Most Useful Goat. Do we have any Goat Carts out there? There is a special "Goat Bucks" prize of a Hot Dog Lunch for all Goat Cart participants! All goats must pass a visual health inspection. Please have your goats to the beginning of the parade route by noon for the health inspection. This is primarily a walking parade. People and their goats in Costume and goats not in costume are welcome to join the fun too. Jugglers, dancers, strolling musicians and goat drawn carts are welcome. All good things Goat or Goat related are welcome. All goats must be trained to a leash or harness, and maintained under control at all times. Male goats must be neutered. Throwing of candy or other items is prohibited. Business banners in the parade are allowed but there is a $20 fee to display it in the parade. Please do not feed goats that are not your own. These rules apply to Parade participants, goat cart goats the costume contestants and all goats attending this event.
