Happy New Year!
Kids from one of our FaceBook friends farms. Thanks, Kathi!

In North Bend, Ohio, Kathi Huber of http://www.3barnsfarm.com is being mobbed by babies! Who can resist a cute kid? Not Kathi!

"She's eating my HAIR!" Kasandra & her LaMancha kid, Crystal. The little goat was so cute that
Kasandra just let the goat chew on her hair...
BTW, unless you really want a mass of tangled broken hair, do not let a goat chew on it.

Sometimes it is just too hard to choose! This week we are featuring two great goat photos.

Pat Allen from Oakboro NC sent this: "Here's one of Sherry Red and my husband Bob Mayor. Sherry Red is after his straw hat but, to the initiated, it looks like she's  smooching on his ear. See our Goat Milk products at: http://www.GoatMilkBath.com "

Michelle Burgess with Heavenly Blessings Farm in Lawndale, NC sends this adorable photo. "This is our Nigerian Dwarf doe Bella with her first kid, Star. Star was born on April 1, 2010.. & that's no April Fooling...lol Bella is a great mom even though she's a young mother... (she got pregnant without telling us... HA HA) We raise Nubians, Nigerians, & in the future plan on raising some Mini Nubians... some will hopefully have bue eyes!!!" Our website is http://www.heavenlyblessingsfarm.webs.com

This photo was taken by Siegfried Forster who says: "On my way back from Tenesse to pick out next year's Junior Purebred Alpine Herdsire for Sunrise Farm, I stopped at Glastonbury Farm in Cosby, TN to see these rare Golden Guernsey's." Betsy Hutlin of Glastonbury Farm says, "That is Miss Pansey."
These dairy goats are not an ADGA recognized breed, but I am excited about Betsy bringing some Golden Guernseys to the Dairy Goat Festival so that people can see some examples of this rare dairy goat.

Week 12

This week we welcome two new kids, the first of 2010 for Siegfried Forster (top) and for Charles & Nance Wolff (below). Beautiful!

Waiting to be milked. This lovely French Alpine belongs to Joyce Devio of Rutherford County, NC.

The girls at Sunrise Farm NC
Recently got a beautiful brand new barn!
These are some healthy & happy goats.

Leslie & Gordon Averill in Selma, NC are BIG goat fans! Been ADGA members since 1991? 2? Pretty long time, anyway.

This week we have the lovely Kelley Hines and her LaMancha Dairy Goat,
Martini in Feb 2009, before her traumatic kidding and subsequent surgery. You can see that Martini is a very loving and gentle doe.

*For those of you who are not familiar with goat breeds, LaMancha goats have very tiny ears. To read more about Dairy Goat Breeds visit http://www.adga.org/breedstandards.html

This comes from Jojo Milano. Jojo is the owner of Goodness Gracious Acres in South Florida and she writes: "MEET Daegen Bren... My newest addition. He's 11 months old. And he drove home from N. Florida in the back of my cab. :)"

Hmmmm, I wonder if having a goat in your back seat qualifies you to use the car pool lane? Thank you Jojo!

Hasbro and owner Charles Wolff of GaGa Gardens in Columbus, NC. Charles and his wife Nance have many different kinds of goats. Hasbro is a smart little guy and has been trained to do tricks.

Beth Neal Carey Curran sent this photo and comment:
This is Wendy. No, she is not a house pet. No, she was not invited in. No, she is certainly not allowed to eat off the table. This is what happens when you walk in the house to get your milk pail w/o securing the goat and/or latching the door...
