  1. Letters of recommendation from three sources are required. Academic sources are strongly preferred. Please advise your references that letters must be on the official stationery of their institutions.
  2. In the case of applicants for the Ph.D., a thesis or other written evidence of research and writing ability is required along with the advisor's or supervisor's letter of recommendation. A publication record is helpful.
  3. TOEFL scores above 580 on the paper-based tests are highly desirable 92 IBT

    1. An official transcript or record of marks for each college or university-level school attended. Include English translation of each of any foreign documents.

    Application Fee
    A non-refundable application fee of $65.00 is required of all applicants applying to the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. The application fee for all departments in the Whiting School of Engineering is waived. Overseas applicants are required to send International Money Orders. Students applying to two or more departments are not required to pay more than one fee, although a separate and complete application packet must be submitted to each department for which a student applies.
