Suites/Catering Manager

 

Reports to:   Director of Food and Beverage

 

Summary

 

The new Independence Events Center is a high volume multi purpose arena looking for an experienced, self-motivated Catering Manager to help move the department to the finest level of service. We are seeking a candidate who is very creative; one who is able to embrace change, implement and create service standards and policies as well as lead a team of diverse individuals. This well-rounded candidate will help guide the department and ensure a 'service-first' environment.


Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·       Manages all suite and catered events including back stage catering for talent.

·       Hires, schedules, and trains catering staff.

·       Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met.

·       Directs setup for events.

·       Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints.

·       Develops menu/costing

 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:

 

·       Minimum of three years Catering experience with an emphasis on event management. You may substitute 1 additional year of experience for each year of education below the basic requirement above as long as you possess a high-school diploma or GED.

·       Organized individual to keep files on events, staffing and equipment.

·       Experience with renting equipment, inventory and staffing for events is a must.

·       Required to effectively train, manage and motivate a team including servers, porters, captains and supervisors.

·       Computer skills required for the position are Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.

·       A flexible schedule is a must as business happens during all shifts. Weekends, evenings and holidays may be required.

Education/Experience


  • Restaurant/ Hospitality Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of lead/supervisory/management experience

Concession Manager

 

Reports to:   Director of Food and Beverage

 

Summary

 

The Independence Events Center is seeking a personable, customer minded and confident

individual to manage the concession operation (food/beverage). This individual will supervise and train the part-time support staff, set schedules, maintain sanitation/hygiene levels with city standards, prepare and sell food items, operate a P.O.S. system, maintain food prep/cook system, and coordinate concessions with events, parties, rentals, birthday parties and special events.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Operate a food/beverage concession operation around a multi-use arena.

Hire, instruct, train, schedule, and evaluate part-time staff and Non Profit groups in the food/beverage operation.

Maintain high sanitation/hygiene expectations that will meet or exceed city standards.

Determine needs, order inventory, prepare, sell, and service food items to internal and external customers.

Exhibit a high degree of customer service skills and positive attitude with staff and customers at all times.

 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:

 

Capable of obtaining necessary food handling and liquor permits as required.

 

Education/Experience


Restaurant /Hospitality Degree preferred.

Experience in food prep, sanitation and hygiene.

Experience in supervising/managing p/t staff.
