Global Careers and Education

Global Careers and Education mentors serve as advisers for college education and career development by offering inspiring stories along with detailed information about their experiences in countries and cultures from around the world,  For high school students struggling to overcome obstacles to achieving their goals for the future, these international mentors offer practical advice based on the diverse experiences, as well as challenges, they have encountered in attaining success. As older peers, these international students have proven to be highly effective in capturing the attention and respect of teenagers, serving as excellent and unique role models.

The Program:

Semester 1: Building a Toolkit and Writing a Resume

During Global Careers and Education workshops in the first semester, mentors trace their personal career paths and the role in which education – including both higher education and study abroad – has played, and continues to play, in enabling them to reach their personal, academic and professional goals.  Using visual aids, interactive teaching techniques, and handouts to engage students, the mentors shed light on the skills and personal characteristics that certain pursuits require, and offer students practical advice for working towards their goals.
