Homework

Homework is given out every Monday and is to be returned on Fridays.  Please make sure your child reads 20-30 minutes each night and practices math facts daily.

Vocabulary

  1. pinniped:  the animal family that includes seals, sea lions, and walruses

    • (noun) an animal eaten by another animal
    • (verb) to hunt and eat other animals
  5. blubber:  a layer of fat between the skin and muscle of most marine mammals
  6. habitat:  the normal, usual, or natural place where a plant or animal lives

  1. Reading--Read 20-30 minutes each day and list in the reading log.
  2. Spelling--Take a practice spelling test on lined paper.  On the back, write any misspelled words.  Parent signature needed on the test for a sticker.
  3. Vocabulary--Write a sentence using each vocabulary word on lined paper.  The sentence should show that you understand the meaning of the words.  Underline the vocabulary word.
  4. Math--Complete the math worksheets, study math facts and list in the math log.
  5. Poetry--Study the poem "May" and be prepared to present it in class on Tuesday, 5/26.
NOTE:  Students who attend the Open House with their parents only need to take the practice spelling test for homework.
