"No Ivy" League

“Green Plague,” “English Invasion,” “Silent Killer,” or whatever you want to call it, English Ivy is everywhere! The Glenn-Gibson Watershed Council is seeking your partnership or participation in the Greater Salem Area "No Ivy" League coalition to collectively combat this invasive plant.

English Ivy (Hedera helix) is designated a noxious weed by Oregon Department of Agriculture. It is a native plant serial killer, smothering undergrowth and strangling trees as it spreads rapidly and unabated. The environmental and economic effects of its spread are devastating. The mission of the “No Ivy” League is to restore native habitats by targeting invasive plants, especially areas overrun by English Ivy

Contact us on how you can get involved if you:

  • Just want more information.
