Eli Mandel (1961)
Eli Mandel was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan in 1922. During the war, he served in the Army Medical Corps; and obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. Mandel has published numerous books of poetry and won the Governor General award in 1967. He was a professor at the University of York.
