Tamassee school was founded and is funded by the Daughters of the American Revolution. It serves needy children in the surrounding areas. This ministry to the Tamassee children is to first of all improve their living conditions by fixing up and redecorating their “cottages.” Tamassee has been under funded for years so these yearly projects take about nine days of work by forty to fifty volunteers. The projects involve carpentry, painting, electrical, power washing, etc. Another facet of our support is the “adoption” of every child at Christmas to see that they have gifts. The final aspect of our support is to provide funding to help the school attract and retain qualified teaching parents
