The Glassy Mountain Chapel Committee

The Chapel Committee consists of 9-13 Cliffs residents who meet monthy to plan and organize Chapel services for
worship and religous music and study. At this time Sunday morning servces are scheduled from May through
September. Other, special services are arranged as opportunities are available. Email chapelcommittee@gmail.com

Donna Heinzenknecht, M.Div. , Worship committee, is a licensed Interdenominational Chaplain. She and her husband Barrie moved to Glassy Mountain from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey in 2002, when he retired.  
Donna received her Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Jersey, where she served several Reformed Churches, as well as being one of the Chaplains at The Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, NJ.  Before attending seminary, Donna was a high school English and Drama teacher, and then ventured into the business world in marketing and management. Currently she is a volunteer Chaplain at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills as well as serving on The Cliffs’ Glassy Mountain Chapel Committee.  She also enjoys working with the Glassy Kid’s Camp, Glassy Women’s Bible Study, The Glassy Mountain Book Club, The Glassy Women’s Chorus, and enjoys playing golf with her husband, family members, and friends.


Donna and Barrie have two grown sons and five grandchildren. They praise God every day for the blessings of being here at the Cliffs at Glassy.

 

 
Cindy Larson, President , and her husband, Jerry, have lived at Glassy since 2000. They lived in Waterford, Connecticut for over 30 years where they raised two sons.

Cindy is serving as Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Greer, SC previously as Clerk of session, Chair of the Evangelism Committee and is currently on the Worship Committee.    

She also served as ordained Elder at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Groton, CT.

Cindy is a former French teacher and later managed a college book sotre for a number of years.

Their eldest son, David, lives with his wife and two sons in Saline, Mi.  Their youngest son, Dan,  lives with his wife in Milwaukee, WI.
 
 




 
 
Ilameta Moore, Cooresponding Secretary, and her husband, Burt, moved to the Cliffs four years ago, after many moves while Burt spent 30 years in the Air Force.

Ilameta is a Stephen Minister and assisted in the formation of Victim Ministry for Chuck Colson’s Prison Ministry. Additionally she has served in various ministries in their churches.
     


They have two children and are blessed with three grandsons who love the Magic Mountain.
 

 
Martha Canata, Corresponding Secretary, and her husband, Bill, have enjoyed living on Glassy Mountain full time since 2006 and part time the preceding 4 years. 

They hail from Chattanooga, Tennessee and lived in Westfield, NJ for 35 years while Bill worked in New York City. Martha attended TCU in Ft. Worth, TX where she earned a B.A. in Education. 

They have a married daughter and son who have blessed them with 7 magnificent grandchildren.  Martha and Bill are members of the Mountain Hill Community Church. Martha joined the Chapel Committee in 2008.
 


 
Louise Krainer, Music, was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, Most recently she lived in Louisville, Kentucky, before moving to Glassy in 2008.
 
Louise graduated from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
 
She spent 18 years doing lots of volunteering while raising our children. She returned to the business world in an Office of Advancement on an Ursuline (nuns) campus. She also worked in a prosthetic and orthotic facility, had her own business dealing with performance management and hiring assessment, and finally ended up working for one of her customers in the printing business as a jack of all trades, including human resources, marketing, and account representative..
Louise is married to Ed, and they have two children and three grandchildren.

 
 
 
Mark Pfiel,Community Relations, has been married to his wife Beth for 38 years. Mark and Beth moved to Glassy Mountain 11years ago.
 
Mark was born and raised in Nebraskaand he is retired from a career as a Physical Therapy and  a Certified Athletic Trainer.
 
Mark is a Volunteer with The Glassy Mountain Fire Department.
                                                   
 
 
 
June Rhoads, Music, and her husband Gerry have enjoyed living at Glassy since 2008. 
 
While moving around the country she has enjoyed getting involved in her church, especially the music programs. 
 
She always gave time to her community through various civic organzations and volunteered with different agencies for the physical and mentally challenged.

June and Garry have two children and are blessed with three wonderful grandchildren.

   
Bonnie Perry, Secretary, joined the Chapel Committee in February, 2011.  She and her husband, Steve, moved to the Cliffs at Glassy in December, 2009.  Having both grown up in Georgia, they have been active in many church and civic activities in all ten states in which they have lived since their marriage in 1965. 
 
Their son and his family live in Marietta, Georgia, and their daughter and her family live in West Lafayette, Indiana. They are blessed with seven grandchildren.

 

Bonnie graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia with a BA in Sociology and English.  Bonnie has always believed in “blooming where you are planted.“ 
 
She was a foster parent in Texas, a paramedic in New Jersey, a Talk Show host on Christian radio in Ohio, and a founder and President of the Patriot Republican Women’s Club in Virginia. 
 
Bonnie and Steve are members of Mountain Hill Community Church where they sing in the church choir.  They enjoy the many opportunities to serve their community and their church here on the mountain.
