Welcome to Glasgow Kentucky's Highland Running and Fitness Club.  We are excited to be a part of your fitness journey!

February 2010 - A message from our President:

Greetings to all:

As I look out my office window as the snow CONTINUES to fall, my thoughts drift to this upcoming spring.  No more treadmills, no more stationary bikes, no more snot rockets on outdoor runs, no more……

Our club has met a couple of times this year already and we are working hard to make 2010 a great year not only for our club, but also for our community.  Although our club was just started in October of 2009, last year was completely rewarding.  With the generous help of our sponsors and the hard work of several volunteers, the Highland Running and Fitness Club in conjunction with the first annual Glasgow Christmas Light Christmas Lights 5K Run and Walk was able to donate $1,600 to the Glasgow-Barren County Community Relief Organization!  Thanks to everyone that worked the race and all of the participants.

Our intentions are to make 2010 an even better year.  This year we have voted to have a club Grand Prix Series of races and we are also working on another race to be sponsored by the HRFC, in addition to our Christmas Lights race.  The race date has not been set and if you are interested in helping with this race, please be at our next meeting on February 18th.  We are also planning group runs and bike rides, so be on the lookout for this information in future emails.

Please visit our website regularly for news,  club information and a race calendar.  http://sites.google.com/site/glasgowhrfc/home

Anyone interested in racing for the club at the Anthem 5K in Louisville on March 6th ,  please let me know and I will get you information. (mwagner@gmci.com)

That is it for now.  I will keep you posted on developments as they happen.
