GENOA-KINGSTON PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE: COMING SPRING 2010 Genoa-Kingston Percussion Staff Tim Corpus: Tim Corpus is a Classical Percussion Performance Major at the Chicago College Of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago. As well as performing with the CCPA Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble, Tim has played in and plays in many pit-orchestras around the Chicago-land area including: Oklahoma, Godspell, Voices Of Light, Fiddler On The Roof and multiple operas with the American Opera Group. In addition to being a proficient performer Tim is an experienced arranger and composer. The 2008-2009 Genoa-Kingston High School drumline packet included many original works by Tim written specifically for this specific type of ensemble. Tim currently composes and arranges music for percussion ensembles at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago and is always in the process of writing new works. Tim offers private lessons to percussion students who are interested. Lessons cover technique on every percussion instrument and each instrument's function as a solo instrument, a voice of the concert band, and a voice of the percussion ensemble. Percussion lessons are completely individualized to the student's current ability level. Any student interested in taking lessons from Tim should contact Mr. Lipinski. The first lesson is free, and each one after is $15/hour. Besides going to school full time, working, and composing, and directing the GK Drumline, Tim also is one of the drumline directors for Schaumburg High School. Lindsey Ridenour: Lindsey is a special education teacher at Genoa Elementary School and directs the percussion pit for the GKHS Marching Band. During her high school years Lindsey played percussion and was drum major in the Canton High School Marching Band of Canton, IL. She was very active in all aspects of music and theater including chorus, madrigals, jazz choir, speech team, symphonic band, and community and high school theater. She took private lessons in piano and voice for many years. She was also a member of the Camarata Chamber Choir of Canton, IL when they sang at the White House for the 1998 Christmas season. After a seven year hiatus to persue her teaching degree, Lindsey is very enthused to bring music back into her life by helping students at GKHS. |
