Our Projects

It is our mission to work on one local community service project and one international project each Rotaract year (July - June).

This year, because one of our Rotaractors visited India, the club decided to give back to the area that she visited- Hyderabad, India.  Read all about the project below!  Because housing is a huge issue here in Grand Junction, the club decided to focus it's local community service project on the prevention of foreclosure (through the Grand Junction Housing Authority) and helping provide furniture to a local homeless shelter (Homeward Bound).  Read all about it below!

India School Bench Project (Project finished)

We had this simple idea to raise $3,000 for some schools in Hyderabad, India.  In the end, after partnering with a Rotary Club in India, and receiving matching grants from the Grand Junction Rotary Club and the Rotary Foundation, we were able to raise $40,563.  This meant, that we are able to buy 1180 primary school benches with desktops, which will accommodate 3,540 children between the ages of 6 - 14, enhancing the learning capacity of these students, as well as providing a better environment for improved learning.
