Geology 1 Field Trip – Big Tujunga Wash, San Gabriel Mountains, Soledad Basin, Vasquez Rocks

Date: See class schedule for date of trip

Time: 8:30am to 4:00pm (we will depart at 9:00 sharp!)

Where to Meet: at PCC parking lot 7 on the north-east corner of the campus, near the kiosk on Bonnie Ave. (near the Burger King). If you are not driving, park in a student lot or on the street.

Drivers: Please volunteer to drive only if you have insurance and your car is in good condition and can comfortably carry passengers. Prof. Given will chose drivers the week before the trip.

The trip is about 100 miles total. Each individual car pool group will arrange splitting the cost of gas.

What to bring:

• Dress appropriate for the weather
  
• Closed-toe walking shoes
• Sun glasses, sun screen, hat
• Water bottle
• Hand lens
• Clip-board or notebook, pencil
• Printout of Field Exercise and these Driving Instructions (see attachments below)
• Gas money
• Sack lunch or money for In-N-Out
