Le
Moustier is about an hour from the airport at Bergerac but also within easy
access of Limoges airport (an hour and a half
away) and Bordeaux
(about two hours drive).

to eat:
- Auberge
du Vimont is situated in the village
of Le Moustier just
a short walk from the house and serves excellent local food and wine.
- About
1.5km from the house in the direction of Peyzac is the Roque St Christophe
where there is a small cafe which serves lunch.
- There
is a restaurant at Le Paradis
campsite, this is about a 2km walk along the river path.
- There
are number of restaurants in the town of Les Eyzies, approximately 12km drive
from the house.
- La
Source restaurant in Tursac (about 5 km away) has vegetarian food on the
menu.
- Montignac
(15 km away) has lots of restaurants and cafes.
Things
to do:
- There
are a number of canoe points in the area; some are situated in St-Leon,
Les Eyzies and Montignac.
- There
are lovely countryside walks straight from Le Moustier.
- There
is a horse-riding centre in the village of St-Leon, approximately 5km from the
house
Places
of Interest:
- La
Roque St Christophe is one of many historical sites in the area first
inhabited in pre-historic times and is just a short walk from the house about
1.5km away. The 1km long caves were first inhabited 55,000 years ago
- The
town of Montignac
is approximately a 20min drive from the house. There are plenty of
riverside cafes, shops & a large supermarket just outside the town.
Tickets for Lascaux can be bought in
Montignac.
- The
beautiful medieval town of Sarlat
is about forty minutes away and has an all day market every Saturday.
- Maison
Forte De Reignac is approximately an 8 minute drive from the town of Les Eyzies.
- In
Le Bugue a short drive in the direction of Les Eyzies there is an aquarium.
- There
is go-karting on the road towards Perigueux, about 30 minutes drive.
