We're home!!! Everything went smoothly at U.S. Embassy interview except for Kalkidan, the baby, running down the steps of the U.S. Embassy and out of the building during the interview. Yes, the adoption agency staff chased her down while I still stood there with the older 2 sisters at the interview. That was the beginning to motherhood? Huh? Well, the girls did extremely well traveling 17 hours. Kalkidan fell asleep about 30 minutes into the flight since it was 1015pm Ethiopia time. The worst part was that we arrived in Dulles Airport in Washington at 720am and did not fly to Atlanta until 430pm. Well, the girls are adjusting pretty well and we will be starting school soon.
The orphanage director wanted to have a ceremony for the girls so we went back before we left on Thursday and the children did sing a farewell song to the girls as we left the orphanage on their last day in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Thanks to everyone that contributed to the girls safe journey home.
