During the 2011-2012 academic year I will teach:

• Preliminary Quantitative Methods (MSc). I will follow very closely "Essential Mathematics for Economics Analysis" by K. Sydsaeter and P. Hammond (3rd edition) and "Further Mathematics for Economics Analysis" by K. Sydsaeter, P. Hammond, A. Seierstad and A. Strom (2nd edition). Since this module is mostly a review of previously studied material the pace will be fast. Students are advised to get hold of copies of these two books from the start.
  
  
• Introductory Econometrics (2nd year). The textbook I plan to use is "Principle of Econometrics" by R. Carter Hill, W.E. Griffiths and G. C. Lim (4th edition). Notice that the textbook is different from the one used in the previous years.

In previous years I have been involved with several units including:

ETC2520 "Probability and mathematical statistics for economics and business". This is a newly introduced 2nd year unit that will (i) provide a foundation in probability and statistical inference for econometricians, and (ii) cover most of the topics of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Core Technical Syllabus for a future degree in Actuarial Studies that could be recognized by the Australian Institute of Actuaries.

ETC4860 "Honours research paper" this unit is part of the new structure for for honours whereby a full time student takes six units of coursework plus a 12-point honours research paper unit.
