Teaching

This year I am coordinating two units:

ETC2520 "Probability and mathematical statistics for economics and business". This is a newly introduced 2nd year unit that will (i) provide a foundation in probability and statistical inference for econometricians, and (ii) cover most of the topics of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Core Technical Syllabus for a future degree in Actuarial Studies that could be recognized by the Australian Institute of Actuaries.

ETC4860 "Honours research paper" this unit is part of the new structure for for honours whereby a full time student takes six units of coursework plus a 12-point honours research paper unit.

I am also teaching part of ETC 5400 or ETC 5410 "Topics in econometrics". The topics that I have covered over the last few years are: Exact distribution theory, Edgeworth and Saddlepoint expansions, Extremum estimators.

In previous years I taught ETC2400 "Econometrics". Some reflections on this unit are available by clicking on the following links: Framework, Curriculum, Principles, Online environment, Measuring learning outcomes, Assessment concepts, Exam preparation.
