Gimodudah

  Introduction

Because I can't spell miscellaneous.
Check the Gimodudah page on my sight for the story behind the name.

I'm looking at Google sites as an alternative to Wiki's. This is a miscellaneous place where I can type things and look at the results. This site is associated with BobBreedlove.com. I'm going to link it to the wiki.

This is really a pretty interesting piece of software, but I'm uncertain whether it would be good for more inexperienced users. The editor works well with its ability to show you the page and let you change things in a WYSIWYG fashion. I will really need to work with it more to make sure that my initial impressions are correct.

A Lifestyle Problem

The high cost of fuel is not a nickle and dime problem, it's a lifestyle problem. It will not be solved at the individual or collective level by saving a few pennies here or there, but by (drastic) changes in lifestyle.

No longer can you jump in your car and zip to the store, you'll have to walk or take your bike. Planners at the regional level will have to consider housing which is closer to work and shopping to minimize the fuel costs of living in a development.

People will have to consider mass transit, telecommuting and other solutions to reduce the cost of getting to work. The cost of commuting is now a cost of working. Companies will have to consider incentives to keep their employees at their locations. Incentives such as telecommuting will be considered a bonus on the part of employees and an enticement to come to work for a particular company.

Housing Market

I'm looking into the possibility of purchasing a second home for vacations and weekends. Yes, actually looking to buy. I can do this because I don't have to sell my primary residence. Check out the wiki.

Bloids

Bloids are little blogs -- blogoids, like plutoids being little planets. they are small snippets of blogging like this little article. Like plutoids, they have enough mass to have their own gravity, but are not fully formed or rounded by their mass.

Thoids

Bloids (blogoids, remember) express thoids (thoughtoids). These are thoughts which are not necessarily fully developed or expressed.

Bush, the Last Days

I created a countdown timer to Bush's last day in office. For me, it can't come too soon. I only hope that the Democrats, behind Barak Obama can defeat the republicans and McClain so we don't have to put up that that group for another term.

HEY! We're under 200 days of Bush!

Surfing the Chaos

This is a thesis I am exploring on my Wiki. It explores software development in a less than ideal envirionment.

Earlids

People are born without earlids.

Focus

I lack it. Check out the blog.
