It is such an overcast day. . .
I already went to Safeway today

Not much today. Didn't have to do anything today. I got up for a while this morning. I got real tired after a while and then I took a nap for a while until the mid-afternoon. I dragged around for a while and then I watched the last bit of Judge Judy, which I had already seen. Then I watched local news and then the CBS Evening News.
After the news I drove over to Value Village. I picked up an old hard drive and a pair of Rockport shoes that were in pretty good condition. They were $6.99 before tax.
Went to the Grocery Outlet store next door to Value Village. I got some Doritos and a six pack of Coke. After I got back home I popped over to Rob's Quikie Mart and got some ice and some jalapeno peppers to go along with the Doritos. I had to ask the Korean lady at the cash register where the jalapenos were. Thought they might not have any but they had a small can of La Costenas, my usual brand.
Well didn't get much done.

I only had to work ten hours today. Last week it was all eleven or twelve hour days. It's going to be ten hour days for the forseeable future. That will be nice.
A few days ago AMD64 computer with an Asus K8S MV/V motherboard running Ubuntu 7.04 would only go to various Google pages and nowhere else on the web! Now, I could probably stay on Google and Google Reader all the time and be OK but it was weird I couldn't surf the net. I tried a number of things so I could get on the full internet but nothing worked. I was getting ready to wipe my Ubuntu system off the hard drive and start over. I tried booting into Puppy Linux and got the very same problem! That's when I figured it must be the NIC. I popped an old, dusty Netgear NIC into a PCI slot, swaped the cable over and booted into Ubuntu and bang: it worked like a charm. I guess the motherboard ethernet not totally Linux compatible.

At Safeway, I got some milk and two liters of Coca-Cola. At the checkout I handed the clerk what I thought was a five dollar bill and he immediately handed back a five dollar bill that was stuck to the other one. Wow. Now I'm listening to Dr Joy Browne on WOR.
