What is the Gift for Burr?
The Gift for Burr is an annual appeal that allows Burr School parents to bring our children the enriching programs, new technology, and academic supports that the city alone can not provide. The Burr PTO infuses an average of $40,000 into our school each year, an amount that equals Burr's entire annual operating budget from the city. This infusion provides the programs, services, and community events that help to make Burr the wonderful place that it is.
This year, the Burr School community has promised to provide over $42,000 to our school. Our goal is to raise $35,000 - an amount that represents more than 80% of the total promised to Burr this year, making the success of the Gift for Burr campaign critical.
Why Should I Participate?
The answer is simple: every child and family at Burr School - including yours - benefits from these funds. Every student benefits from the playground structures, classroom equipment, teacher supplies, enrichment programs, technology,
and community events that PTO funds provide. Without these funds the programs and services we’ve promised to support must be reduced or eliminated. If we raise less money, we receive fewer benefits as a community. But if we raise more, we can give even more back to our children.
