The STLF community service road trip refers to an upcoming event this coming November put on by a national organization called STLF. This page has links to all the information, and contact information if you have questions. General Description: Last
year, in 2010, ten students from Gladstone High School decided to participate
in a trip put on by a national organization called Students Today, Leaders
Forever, or STLF. They enjoyed it greatly and the next trip over spring break 2011 they attracted three times as many students to take part in this experience. This trip was with students from around the Portland metro
area and involved driving on a charter bus down to San Francisco with stops in
various cities along the way to do community service projects. All of these
students will tell you that they had an incredible time serving, travelling,
and having fun alongside their Gladstone friends, and friends they made on the
trip. Because of their experience and the response from other students when
they returned, some of these students began planning a trip for an entire bus
of Gladstone students for Thanksgiving break of 2011 (18-22). Another student
traveled to Wisconsin for training in working with STLF as a college leader.
This organization was recognized by TIME magazine as #2 on the list of "21 Ways to Serve America" and is described by an MSNBC
writer as "a Minneapolis-based non-profit group that encourages
students to 'pay it forward' by combining travel, volunteer work and
