Grand River Technical School Scholarship: The deadline to apply for Grand River Technical School Scholarships is April 15th. See Mrs. Cox ASAP if you think you plan to attend this school. She will help you with the scholarship application.
Missouri Western Scholarships: Seniors who plan to attend Missouri Western – St. Joseph next need definitely need to make note of the websites and deadlines listed below. Especially, you should complete the “one stop” scholarship application as soon as possible. Apply for hundreds of scholarships using one application. Go online to www.missouriwestern.edu/OneStop and log on to your One Stop account.
April 1st is the deadline to complete your FAFSA for State Financial Aid: To start working on your FAFSA, go to www.studentaid.ed.gov.

Local Scholarships: *The following scholarships have their own separate applications. Please follow the directions!
Frost Automotive Award: This award is for a graduating FFA Member. The application is now posted on the Counselor Corner website, or you can see Mrs. Cox or Mr. Henderson. The completed application is due April 15. QuadCounty Cattlemen’s Association will award a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who lives in Clinton, Caldwell, Daviess, or Dekalb County. You must have a 2.5 GPA and plan to further your education in the field of agriculture or food production. Special preference may be given for areas of study related to beef production. This application is now on the Counselor Corner website and must be turned in to Mrs. Cox no later than April 16. Cameron Regional Medical Center will award a $1000 scholarship to a Daviess County graduating senior. This scholarship is renewable for an additional three years if you maintain a college GPA of at least 3.0. To be eligible, you must intend to enter a healthcare field of study and currently have at least a 20 on the ACT. This application is posted on the Counselor Corner website. Application must be postmarked or hand delivered to the hospital no later than April 6. Daviess County Fair Board & Livestock Scholarship: Any high school student who has ever participated in a Daviess County Livestock show can apply for this scholarship. Last year it was worth $250. This application is now posted on the Counselor Corner website. Application deadline is April 1. The Andrew Hood Memorial Scholarship: this $500 Scholarship is for an outstanding FFA member. The application requires a short essay and is due to Mrs. Cox or Mr. Henderson no later than April 13. This application is now posted on Counselor Corner. Lake Viking Lions Club will award a $500 scholarship to a GHS graduating senior. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA. One letter of recommendation is also required. Finalists for this scholarship will be interviewed here at school. This scholarship has its own application which is now posted on the Counselor Corner website. Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Cox by April 2. Order of Eastern Star will award one $500 scholarship to a t a Gallatin High School graduating senior. All students are eligible to apply. Selection will be based on academics, financial need, school and community involvement, and educational goals. All college-bound seniors should complete this application. The application is on the Counselor Corner webpage and must be turned in to Mrs. Cox no later than Wednesday, April 4. Gallatin Booster Club: Several Booster Club scholarships will be awarded this year. GHS students who have participated in athletics during high school are eligible to apply, and all eligible students are encouraged to submit an application. This year, students must attach a copy of the GHS Local Scholarship Application to the Booster Club Scholarship application. The Booster Club application is available on the Counselor Corner Website. Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Cox no later than April 1. Northwest Missouri Financial Women: This organization will award two $250 scholarships for graduating senior girls living in Northwest Missouri. Applicants must have a GPA of greater than or equal to 3.0 and plan to attend an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in business or finance during the Fall of 2012. The application is available at www.nmfw.org. The deadline is April 1. Mrs. Cox will set this application up to type on the computer if you let her know in advance that you want to apply. Ask for her help! Access II in Gallatin will award one $500 scholarship to a college-bound student who has a documented disability such as a learning disability (IEP) or a physical handicap. This application requires a short essay and two letters of recommendation. The application is on the Counselor Corner webpage, and the deadline is April 9, 2012. Missouri Insurance Education Foundation will award four $1500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who intend to pursue a course of study related to insurance, risk management, or actuarial science. Students must also be planning to attend a college or university in the State of Missouri. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2012. This application is on the scholarship application page of the Counselor Corner website. North Central Missouri College (NCMC) Scholarship Application is due April 15. All students planning to attend NCMC should complete this simple application. You can get scholarship money in addition to A+ funding. This application is on the scholarship page of the Counselor Corner website. Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri will award seven $500 scholarships, one from each bank location. A student from Daviess County will receive one of these scholarships. Students planning to enter the military are eligible to apply. Students with parents, brothers, sisters, or grandparents working for Farmers Bank are not eligible. The application is now on the Counselor Corner website. Application deadline is March 31.
Other Scholarships and Awards:
Scholarships for children or grandchildren of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) or Missouri Ladies Auxiliary Members: If you have a parent or grandparent who is a VFW or Auxiliary member, then you are eligible to apply for an $1800 scholarship. See Mrs. Cox ASAP for more information. The application deadline is April 30. AFA Scholarships (Agriculture Future of America) AFA’s mission is to create partnerships that identify, encourage and support outstanding college men and women who are preparing for careers in the agriculture and food industry. With student participation increasing 38 percent in the last five years, AFA leader development programs have impacted nearly 7,000 students from more than 115 universities in 42 states since its inception in 1996.
