A site for my 93 Mustang 5.0L Convertible

Here I will show some of the pictures and modifications for my 93 Mustang. Resource links and explainations of what worked for me so everyone that asks about it can just go to the website.

I started with a worn out 93 Mustang Convertible with a 5.0L 302 engine and all stock components.

Although I will cover all the details and resources I have used, I want to thank Summit Racing for all the help and Summit should be a first stop for performance parts. I started with the basics, a FlowMaster II Cat-Back 2.5" system to replace the stock exhaust. A car is essentially an air pump, so improve the air flow in and out and you get performance. Next I added the K & N Air Intake, you simply must have this to get air into the V8. I replaced the drive shaft with a performance Aluminum drive shaft, this has obvious weight benefits but you could skip it to save money. I will outline the costs for each mod on the how to pages I add.  The tires were shot, so I replaced with Kumho performance Race series 17" all around. Steering was a surprise to me, I didn't realize that the 93 comes with a terrible standard rack & pinion steering with literally no turning radius. They offer a performace version which makes the car totally different. To be continued....

OK, my new rear gear & pinion set came in from Ford Performance Racing via Summit Racing. I researched all the variables on which gear to order, you can make a legit debate on either the 3.55 or the 4.10 but my information and use tells me the 3.73 is the best choice for my intentions.

Once I decided on the gear, I opened up a can of worms....the rear end on this car has pitted axles and shot carrier bearings. I want new over cheap or quick (both are good sometimes) so I ordered new 28 spine axles, 4 lug. I'm not converting to 5 lug because I don't need to and my rims are great. This will haunt me but nobody else will care.

The trunk is being reupholstered (spell that?) Boys Awning and Auto Upholstery is reworking the trunk and possibly some interior work later. I'll post some before and after pictures on that. The trunk is basically stripped bare, this is a good time to replace the lights and check the convertible top motor. The motor is easy to reach from the trunk.
