Welcome to the Liner Picking Party website!  This is an informational site for the bluegrass picking party scheduled to begin on July 9th 2008 in Durham, NY.  We will be gathering on a hilltop to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area, play music and lollygag about.  This party leads up to the gate opening of the GreyFox Bluegrass Festival in nearby Oak Hill (approx. 4 miles away) on Wednesday, July 16.  The location of the pre-fest party is the beautiful Allen Farm affectionately referred to as "The Foxhole".

 

In the past folks would line up for Winterhawk and Grey Fox weeks in advance to celebrate and be the first on the hill (hence the name "liners"). Now that Grey Fox has relocated to a new venue, that is not possible - but some folks just aren't willing to give that up so we're doing it ourselves.  Hope to see you on the hill!
