The creator of the LUCID-Art

Les Cookson is an artist and inventor at heart and has been drawing and painting for as long as he could remember. As a small child he was always building something new and drawing up some new inventions including: a laser powered cooker and a perpetual motion go-cart that his young mind envisioned would be propelled by a re-circulating supply of falling rocks.

So much later when he leaned about the camera lucida while taking a painting class, he immediately started thinking up ways to build and improve the devise. And with some direction from his professor he built his first camera lucida out of salvaged wooden crate material that he pulled from a trash pile at his work. Now after years of trial and error, research and experimentation combined with Les’ insight as an artist and demand for quality and value lead to what is unquestionably the best camera lucida ever created—the LUCID-Art.
