Mission: The Get Healthy Guam Coalition is a community-based collaborative organization dedicated to Raising Awareness and Motivating People to Actively Engage in Healthy Lifestyles Home About Us History Columns Personal Health Topics Useful websites Site Map Prevention Projects, Upper Elementary LevelObjectives: To increase Health Literacy with the NCDs (non-communicable diseases) & preventive health efforts at school, work, and home. To optimize learning capacities of youth with a good health foundation. To assist our youth with good external influences so they can internalize lifelong health habits. To increase particpation in sports and physical activities. The Call: To mobilize efforts from all levels of our community leaders to assist in promoting comprehensive and FUN health education for our youth. Two Cancer Educaton Curriculum are up for review: 1. Cure4Kids for Kids curriculum. Curricula Input needed from teachers: 1. What do you think about the content? 2. Do you feel the language level of this curriculum is appropriate for 4th/5th graders? 3. Do you think it is possible for this supplemental curriculum to fit in with your school's health curriculum? 4. Which of the 2 cancer education curricula will better meet the objectives?
Heart Disease Education Curriculum The "Live Long, Be Strong. Let's Stop Heart Disease" booklet will be available soon, created by the Health Literacy Team of the Get Healthy Guam Coalition.
