Click here for Flu and Swine Flu Vaccination recommendations. In the UK the Seasonal flu Vaccine is best given to egg-allergic children as Viroflu; this vaccine contains very little egg and represents a low risk. For patients with 'severe egg allergy' the vaccine should be supervised in a safe and experienced setting. No egg-free seasonal vaccine is available for the 2009/10 season. The swine flu vaccine will be provided to your GP as Pandemrix (GSK) - which contains egg and should be avoided if egg allergic - and the egg-free Celvapan (Baxter) vaccine, which will be safe. The vaccine can be give as one or two shots; for more info click here -Swine Flu Vaccine be safe for egg-allergic children
