- Please try stop anti-histamine medications at least 3 days prior to your appointment. Other medicines such as asthma medicines and antibiotics will not interfere with the Allergy testing.
- Please take time to think carefully about events surrounding your/your child's medical concern/s - make a list!
- Digital images or detailed eye witness accounts of episodes or rashes may also facilitate a more accurate diagnosis
- If you suspect that a food may be associated with your/your child's symptoms, please ensure that we offer the test for this particular food. Our available test extracts for skin testing include the following. If we do not offer the test for the particular food you are concerned about, please bring a small specimen of this food to the clinic (no more than 3 specimens) to facilitate the skin test
- If you or your child is asthmatic, please bring along the inhaler devices you use so that we can demonstrate techniques for optimal use
- If you or your child carries an Epipen or Anapen, please bring along any expired Epipens so that we can train you to use the 'live' device. We will always perform or refresh Epipen training if this device is part of your emergency plan
