Genson Kennel was founded in 1977 by Roxanne Ogden and the late Martha Jolly. At that time Shelties were the only breed associated with Genson. With the mentoring of the Randalls of Sheldon Kennels, we were able to have early success in the sport. We had the privilege of buying Ch. Sheldon Banner Boy, who became our first BIS winner, and subsequently our first ROMC dog.

Our first home-bred BIS and BISS winner was a half brother to Banner, Genson's Intrepid Man, "Trevor". Trevor went on to be #1 Sheltie in Canada in 1984. Their sire was Am./Can. Ch. Gray Dawn Reveille of Sea Isle ROMC.

Genson Kennel is located in Quispamsis, NB. Canada.

Roxanne has been joined by Bonnie O'Brien who has discovered the love of dogs and the sport of breeding and showing. She brings her expertise of neonatal nursing to the whelping pen. Bonnie has been part of the Genson team for the last 14 years.

We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club, the Canadian Shetland Sheepdog Association, The Eastern Canada Dachshund Club and the New Brunswick Kennel Club. Roxanne is a life member of the CKC.

The Dachshunds came into our lives with the purchase of "Prelude's Dream Come True" in Oct. 2003. This Mini-Wire puppy truly was a "Dream come true". Tanner quickly became a favorite at all the Maritime shows, and developed his own fan club. We learned that this little man could have the show attitude, but also be a joy to own. The Dachsies can have a terrier type attitude, but yet be totally cuddly and lovable...a wonderful mix!

We thank Thomas Nesbitt and David Swartwood of Prelude Kennel in Gananoque, Ontario for allowing Tanner to live with us. Their mentorship and support has been invaluable as we get to know the Dachshund breed. We enjoyed having Tanner in our lives so much that we went back to Prelude Kennel to purchase our first MW bitch puppy, "Prelude's Enhancing The Dream". aka Hannah.

We had our first Dachsie litter in Sept. 2006.

Our goal is to produce happy, healthy Shelties and Dachsies that adhere to the breed standard and have fabulous temperaments.
