posted 7 Feb 2009 22:43 by Pr J   [ updated 7 Feb 2009 22:52 ]

Many of us feel that burning a DVD just to test a Beta or RC of a Windows edition is too much… why not simply use our USB drives to install it???
As also depicted on other blogs, this CAN be done and without much pain. When i tried searching for it, all i was getting were videos & stuff… So, to avoid the trouble of going through them each time, i noted down the steps.. here they are:

Delete useless Language files from FIFA09 Install Directory

posted 28 Nov 2008 12:00 by Pr J   [ updated 28 Nov 2008 12:02 ]

Now if you have installed FIFA09, you must have noticed that it gulps quite a lot of space (~ around 5GB). And while you play the game, you are always asked the language. Now, most of the people do not use more than one language. Most are confined to ‘English’. So why even install the other language files?. The question becomes more prominent when you get to know that each language is eating around 360MB of your harddisk space. So if you just use English language, then your 360×4 MB is just getting wasted. It is quite a lot of memory for guys having low capacity harddisks or if you are running out of space. And because there is no option (while installing) to restrict installation of other language files, you just end up wasting your 1.4GB.

So an alternative is taking care of things manually after the game has installed. To get back our precious 1.4GB, we will be removing the other language commentry files manually from the installed directory. Naturally this will have some side-effects like, the game will crash if you select the language at game screen that you have already deleted manually. Now its obvious that you won’t have any problems if you play the language for which the commentry file still exists.

Run GTASA from DVD without installing

posted 28 Nov 2008 11:54 by Pr J   [ updated 28 Nov 2008 11:59 ]

I just found a way to run GTA: San Andreas simply by a DVD while it is not even installed on your system.
That means that you won't need to have that 5GB space always reserved on your harddisk for the game.
And you can simply insert the DVD and play whenever and wherever you want!

Remove Radio Files from San Andreas

posted 28 Nov 2008 11:51 by Pr J   [ updated 28 Nov 2008 11:59 ]

I don’t know whether the solution already exists or not, i tried searching on net but all what i got was suggestions like just turn off the radio.
Turning off the radio doesn’t get you rid off the radio and it keeps switching on once you change vehicles.
So i found another alternative, deleting the radio files from the installed directory. This is very easy if you know which all files to delete…
