Since 2008, the Geneva Reads partnership has been creating a culture of literacy in Geneva. We envision a future where Genevans of all ages enjoy an enhanced quality of life through literacy and the love of reading.



We are seeking an Executive Director!

The Executive Director involves the management and oversight of Geneva Reads’ operations and communications in support of its mission and vision statements.

Duties:

  • Implement programs in accordance with the goals and objectives; funding source requirements and budget limitations.
  • Inform the Board of Directors and coalition members of policy and program implementation/progress/activities.
  • Pursue, and once secured, assure the proper fiscal and legal protection of the agency’s standing as a 501c3 tax-exempt, non-profit corporation.
  • Identify and acquire funding to sustain the organization and its goals.
  • Ensure progress of program growth in accordance with approved goals.
  • Maintain an organizational structure that establishes lines of responsibility, accountability, communication, and decision-making to facilitate attainment of program goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:
  • Passionate about literacy at all levels
  • Some college preferred 
  • Strong and diverse experience in fund development in areas such as fundraising and grant writing, including, but not limited to, foundation grants and local, state, and federal government financial resources
  • Excellent written, verbal, public speaking, and technology skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong and effective collaborator and negotiator of relations with a variety of community partners

Compensation: $20 per hour, for max.10 hr/week
