Photos and family trees - 

scanning basics, editing photos and adding them to your family trees.

Milli will run through the basics of scanning photos, negatives and slides to keep archival quality copies and to make copies for use with your family trees and genealogy software.
  It will also cover the basics of photo editing using the freeware software  Photo Filtre  to clone out those damage spots and restore your photos to their original glory
 We will also look at Picasa and how to organise and find items in your collection of images and some of the many features of this free program.

some tips and tricks for researching 
on  the best of the websites for family history

Workshops are $5.00 each or $8.00 for both.
All monies raised are used to purchase further teaching resources and handbooks for the library.

This funding will  allow us to purchase a Synology NAS unit to store digital files as part of our ... 


GENEALOGY SUNSHINE COAST 
is very pleased to acknowledge the support of the
 



in the first round of grant funding for 2009.

We have been able to purchase a high quality A3 scanner to enable us to scan historical photos, documents, maps, diaries, artwork and much more.

We are very grateful to the Nambour RSL Club for their funding of $3000 towards the cost of this equipment and also to our members who have contributed towards this project to preserve and record historical records.

With an evening opening on one day each week and a Sunday afternoon opening once a month, it is a great chance for all those working folk to have a chance to research in the evening or on a Sunday afternoon. Check the calendar for details of opening hours.
