Their bodies and dramatic long tails are carved from high grade bright calcite, whichwas cut especially for a collector. Their brilliant yellow color is highly polished, giving them a radiant effect. Their shiny agate beaks have been hand ground and highly polished. Agate is one of nature's hardest and most beautiful minerals. It took approximately 80 million years for each piece of agate to form. This agate came from a place in Brazil that is considered to have the best agate in the world. Their feet are solid gold plated. The birds are perched in different positions on this beautiful amethyst geode base, allowing for more viewing of this spectacular carving. This amethyst is deep and violet color and has perfectly formed crystals. The amethyst sits on a pinewood base carved exclusively for this piece.
