August 21 &- 22, 2010 the Blue Grass Gem and Mineral Club's "Gemboree 2010" will host 18,000 SF of quality vendors of gems, minerals, jewelry, rocks and fossils. Held at the Lexington Convention Center which is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Lexington, at the corner of Broadway and High with entrances off Vine, West High, and West Main St. Nearby are retail boutiques, wonderful restaurants and many entertainment opportunities all within easy walking distance in a city famous for its scenic beauty, small-town charm and hospitality. The LCC is a high traffic area with shopping, several restaurants, a hotel, and a museum in the facility. The Center is in the heart of Lexington’s historic downtown. Nearby are retail boutiques, wonderful restaurants and many entertainment opportunities all within easy walking distance in a city famous for its scenic beauty, small-town charm and hospitality. It is our intention to have at least 40 quality vendors sell and exhibit. An area will be available for vendors and club member exhibits on a first request basis at no charge to the vendor. Display cases will be needed for secure displays in this area. Security will be provided during move-in and move-out. Tables provided are plain tables and you are encouraged to bring your covers and decorations. No animals are allowed in the building except service animals. You may not have an open flame or tents that are enclosed. No food or beverages may be sold by vendors. This show will be advertised in the Eastern & American Federation’s News Bulletins, The Rock & Gem Magazine, local newspapers and will be sent to all the local clubs in the area. We will also post on the Lexington Convention Center’s web site, The Blue Grass Gem & Minerals web site and FaceBook. Other publications local and national, will be also be posted. Accommodations include two hotels for anyone who would like to stay within walking distance and several hotels and motels within 5 miles. Five restaurants are in the Food Court and many others within walking distance. Driving time to I-75/I-64 is an average of 10 minutes. Dates: Friday, August 20th is vendor move-in from12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, August 21st show is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 22nd show is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vendor move-out by 8 PM.
