To start the discussion, the file "non-taxonomic_plankton_terms" contains a selection of non-taxonomic plankton groupings used in some of the datasets submitted to BODC. I propose that we use this file to build up a list of these terms and try to come up with some definitions and, if possible, recommend a consistent mapping to ITIS and WoRMS.
