The 2009 Festival is history now, but a great time was had by all.  Thanks so much for your support!

For a trip down Recent Memory Lane, here's the link to the 2009 Festival web site

And here's some feedback on GWDF 2009 from folks who were there.  Please let us know your suggestions and thoughts also.

  • Well I went to the Festival this past weekend, was there both days.  Saturday I wound up buying a "real" dulcimer, and will soon be putting my "church box" style dulcimer up for sale .... Sunday I took two of my closest friends to the festival to listen to the music from the stages.  I'm really glad that I went.  My friends were just in awe of the music.  They had never been to such a thing nor heard of them.  So I am now in the process of trying to find out if Paul Van Arsdale has a CD of his music out  ...
  • Just want to say thanks for another great fest.  My best takeaway was Luke Notary's Percussion Workshop.  It was AMAZING.  Can't wait till next year!  Ever consider a mini-fest in the fall?

Your support is what makes the Festival happen.  Please donate or volunteer.  Thank you!

2009 Festival: June 13-14

Welcome to the 22nd annual Gebhard Woods Dulcimer Festival !

Every year since 1988, the city of Morris, Illinois has hosted our event, with the kind support of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Illinois Arts Council.  The Festival is held in Gebhard Woods State Park, with its lovely old shade trees, ponds, and hiking and biking trails.  Gebhard Woods is a mid-size festival with an up-close-and-personal feel.

You can find video clips, photos, conversation, and lots of other stuff at the Gebhard Woods online community site: GWDF online community
