Located on Mt. View Street in Petersburg, West Virginia, the 305-seat Center is available for use by both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Space rental and janitorial fees may apply. Even if a fee is not mandatory, GCAC encourages users to donate generously to the upkeep and improvement of the Center.
Facilities include a state-of-the-art light and sound system and a large projection screen, two art gallery areas, dressing rooms, and a "green room" for performers. A grand piano can be rolled onto the stage from the wings. Acoustics are excellent: every seat in the house is a "good one."
The Center has up-to-date accessibility features including assistive listening devices and wider bench-type seats in the top row. Handicapped parking is available on the street and in the Library lot and the City Office lot across the street after business hours.
Users are responsible for their own publicity arrangements. The Parks and Recreation Department has a tip sheet on free and paid advertising opportunities. The tip sheet was prepared by GCAC as a courtesy to arts presenters. Users may sell non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to be consumed in the lobby area. Food is not permitted in the Harr Theatre itself. All public buildings and surrounding grounds are non-smoking in Grant County. GC AC complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
