Welcome. Glad you stopped by!

Whether you are new to the area or a longtime resident, whether young, old, or in between, Grant County Arts Council welcomes you to participate in our events and workshops. Memberships help support our offerings, but most events are open to the public on a pay-as-you-go basis, too.

Save the date:
Spring Paint-Out, Saturday, June 9, 2012, Welton Park, Petersburg Gap. Informal get-together of visual artists in scenic park with flora, fauna, river, cliffs, ball fields, walking track, and picnic shelters. Bring your own supplies, water and bag lunch. The park has restrooms but no public water.

Cheerleader and Donated Custom Bike at LAC March 3 - 4, 2012

As part of the HOG as Art bike show at the Landes Arts Center, one group showed a donated bike decorated in the red, white, and blue of the USA Cheerleaders. Their raffle will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project to assist vets and their families.

There were a wide variety of impressive detailing styles on display. The WV Motorcycle Safety Program showed their "trike" and distributed promotional materials. Chuck Kimble obtained a Safety Trainer computerized video training setup. It was a big hit with the kids --- and with the big kids. The CE Helping Hands Motorcycle Group handed out complimentary ThunderRoadsWV magazines and a five-county Potomac Highlands guide to scenic bike rides provided by the WV Tourism agency. The showed was funded in part by donations from Community Sponsors Chuck and Kathy Kimble and Dave and Patty Adkins.

Our thanks to Louis Alt and the Grant County Parks and Recreation Department for their support in making this a successful event. As of March 4, 2012, they still had a few "Bike Blast" tee-shirts for sale (only $10 each for what Louis calls a "walking billboard" for the LAC and Grant County Tourism).
