The Characteristics of Women in Bhagavata      Purana:

One of the main reasons for the popularity of the Bhagavata Purana (One of the Puranas, which are supplementary to the ancient Vedic texts) is its characters and teachings which they exemplify through their behavior. In this essay, I address the characteristics of women in Bhagavata Purana and the relevance of these teachings in ISKCON (The International society for Krishna Consciousness). I find it interesting to ascertain the theological perspective given in Bhagavata Purana concerning women’s position in society and to evaluate to what extent ISKCON is adhering to the principles given in Bhagavata Purana.

What is Hinduism ?

and
What is the relation between Hinduism and ISKCON society?

What is Srila Prabhupada's (founder Acarya of ISKCON) view?

What is the Practitioner's and scholarly perspective?

Does Hinduism affects ISKCON's  identity?

I conclude with some words to reconcile the somewhat contradictory question, "Can ISKCON identify itself with Hinduism".

The Ontological and Cosmological Arguments

as a Rational Basis for Belief in God

Those persons who claim to have had an encounter with God usually find this experience self-authenticating, and thus they see no need to inquire further. All human experience however, is fallible. Mistakes in perception are an everyday occurrence, and false conceptions of the natural world (the earth, the heavenly bodies, and so forth) have prevailed for thousands of years. It is therefore possible that an experience of the Supreme Being is also illusory, and this possibility has led some believers to look for a rational basis for belief in God that will confirm the experiential basis.

New Moral

(Utilitarianism, Nietzsche, Sartre)

Moral values are beliefs about what is right and wrong; moral behavior refers to actions consistent with these beliefs. The ability to think and reason enables moral judgment, thus many philosophers put forward their theories about morals. Over the centuries, there are many changes have taken place in application of moral values, as individuals encounter new and more complex ethical dilemmas.

Fervent Feelings as explained in

Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu

Devotional (bhakti) traditions are Hindu religious movements in which the main spiritual practice is the fostering of loving devotion to God. The bhakti movements were spearheaded by devotional mystics who extolled devotion and love for God as the chief means of attaining spiritual perfection. In his Nectar of Devotion, which he termed a summary study of Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu, a devotional guidebook written by the mediaeval saint Rupa Goswami (ca.1489-1590)

Bliss in God

As Explained in Vedanta-sutra

In the Vedanta, the Absolute or the Reality is investigated by considering Brahman (the supreme absolute truth or ultimate God) first, and the creation (souls and the world). The term "Vedanta" literally means "the end of the Veda," It is the doctrine set forth in the closing chapters of the Vedas (ancient scripture of India) which are the Upanishads. Sita

The Remarkable character in Ramayana

A major reason for the popularity of the epics like Ramayana is that their characters - heroes and gods in human form convey the central ethical teachings and cultural values of Hinduism. These teachings and values are encapsulated in the term dharma. The Ramayana is full of incidents of the wife's devotion to her husband, its heroine Sita being herself the chief object of the poet's eulogy.

Dilemma in the

 DICE GAME

In this essay, I attempt to answer Draupadi’s question based on my knowledge and practice of Vaishnava theology. Then I compare and contrast my conclusion with three other theories. Although the Mahabharata is taken to be a treatise on dharma (moral integrity), it is not a dharmashastra, since it does not deal exclusively with morality.Mahabharata also contains the art of creating and exploiting economic resources (artha).
