As a young LAZY immature 11th grader I was given the task of completing a term paper for an honors English class. The topic was a literary analysis of Roots by Alex Hailey and a secondary source. I fully read Roots but got and early case of junioritis and neglected to read the second book, but a good friend of mine happened to have read both books so I asked him if he could send me his paper. After I made some minor changes to it I printed it off and turned it in. I was feeling pretty good that I had turned in a pretty well written paper and didn’t have to do any of the work, I felt I dodged a major bullet, but that was short lived when we received our papers back a big fat hairy F was staring me right in my face, and to make matters worse my friend got a D. lucky the teacher I had allowed us to rewrite our papers for a maximum grade of 70%.  Because I didn’t do it the first time I had to do some major work to try and get at least a C. The lesson I learned from this whole experience was to not trust anyone’s work but my own and doing the paper myself would have saved me more work than just taking my paper.
